Friday Night, 20 April, and this is what they gave us for supper.

They should be ASHAMED of themselves for calling this a supper.

  1. 2 questions concerning our living environment. I support the Blog writer concerning the fact that we are being forced to not only to live in rooms that will only accommodate 2 fully grown ambulatory men. We now are basically being warehoused at this point. Walkers, wheelchairs, and now power wheelchairs. Why are these members on these 2 floors for vets who can basically take care of themselves being placed in what little room we have? And it should be noted that these members in power chairs are also being given extra room because they ALSO have a regular wheelchair, and a walker as well! The other question is why are the females on our 2 floors (most of whom are NOT vets) being given their own PRIVATE rooms with a shared bath. Apparently, for their Privacy and security are also given a key to lock their rooms. If space and the budget are so bad, why don't they have a room-mate, which would free up bed space (this would not mean sharing a bath with makes) they could use the extra space for these non ambulatory members to share a room. Concerning having a locked room: We have 1 female nurse who all but refuses to knock before entering our private area, and on more than 1 occasion many members can tell you about an intoxicated or whatever member entering their room in the middle of the night. Why are not afforded as actual vets the same privacy and security?? I don't know, just some food for thought, I'm sure the poses that be here at GRHV will quickly come up with a pocket full of dodges for those questions!!
