GRAND RAPIDS, MI — State Sen. Dave Hildenbrand, R-Lowell, on Thursday
said he will seek an additional $725,000 for the Grand Rapids Home for
Veterans after a recently published audit uncovered pervasive problems.
The state auditor general's unflattering report,
released Wednesday, detailed multiple deficiencies in psychiatric care
at the home, and found weak controls to avoid misuse, loss or waste of
pharmaceuticals, food and medical supplies.
Amongst other things. If they cannot account for funding here, then why give them more money? Seems kind of stupid to me.
I noticed they tore up the main entrance. Someone told me the Veterans Home is finally getting that overhead awning, or cover, that they have wanted but always said they did not have enough funds for.
Kind of like the money for the 4th floor right?
